The new MV monopod helps to fill the gap where a tripod is too large and cumbersome, but you need some support. There are three key features that make this monopod super versatile. 1) A quick detach system, which allows fast interchangeability between different mounting options. 2) It has an articulating foot, which makes it a lot more solid and balanced. 3) Strip out the monopod and connect the top mounting plate to the articulating foot and you've got a high-quality table-top tripod.

This monopod is available in a kit paired with the BV-10 fluid head. There is no design element that makes this exclusively a video tripod - if it looks attractive to you for stills use, then go for it.
