A 40" C-stand — short for century stand — supplied as a complete kit: the stand, a 2.5" grip head and a 40" grip arm. Between them they hold flags, silks, reflectors and small lights wherever a plain stand cannot reach.
The sliding leg is what separates this from a standard C-stand. Two legs are spring-loaded and open to fixed positions; the third slides up and down the riser on a locking knob. Raise that one leg and the stand sits level on stairs, a slope or rough ground. Because the three legs sit at different heights, several stands also nest together for storage and transport.
The 40" grip arm is 16mm (5/8") steel tube, machined to a deliberately rough finish so a grip head bites rather than slips, and it ends in a faceted hex stud that stops a fixture rotating once it is out on the arm.
The 2.5" grip head is a pair of rotating aluminium discs on a 16mm (5/8") receiver. Four V-shaped jaws take 5/8", 1/2", 3/8" or 1/4" studs and tubing, with teeth that hold whatever sits between the plates. An oversized T-handle running on roller bearings gives you the torque to lock it properly.
Built for the field: the steel baby stud is welded to the top section rather than pinned, the leg base holders are zinc alloy casting, the column carries captive T-knobs that cannot drop out, an oversized brake shoe gives a firmer lock-off, and the feet are padded to protect both the legs and the floor.

★★★★★As a regular customer I can highly recommend Hougaard and his team without any hesitation - this company offers high quality products that are priced VERY reasonably. The service I have received is highly commendable and every purchasing experience has been an absolute pleasure! There are not a lot of companies out there that still has this level of integrity.
