The Leofoto LY series tripods offer the best of the ultra-compact Ranger tripods, but with a solid center-column that doesn't make any drastic difference to the tripod's travel-friendly size. The secret to this is a concave triangular Y-shaped center column that sits snugly between the legs.

Combined with a simple compact apex and locking lever, it offers the best of both worlds; short, compact folded dimensions, but with the extra length of and convenience of a center column.

The LY-tripods are available in 3 sizes - LY-224C (paired with LH-25), LY-254C and LY-284C (paired with LH-30). While it is great to have a tripod that folds down short and is lightweight, its always important to ensure that it is strong enough for the size of your camera and tall enough so that you don't have to bend over when using it.
