Leofoto Juggernaut S2 & S3 PRS Tripod

The Leofoto X Mountain Forged Juggernaut is a heavy-duty carbon fibre shooting tripod developed for precision rifle competition, long-range shooting, hunting and spotting.

Co-developed by championship-winning shooters Morgun King and Jon Pynch alongside the Leofoto team, the Juggernaut combines oversized 44.7 mm carbon fibre legs, rapid deployment and a new Arca and Picatinny-compatible anvil head.

Available in South Africa in two configurations, the Juggernaut S2 and Juggernaut S3 offer different approaches to balancing deployment speed, stability and portability.

South African availability and pre-orders

Initial Juggernaut stock will be limited, with small batches arriving by air before larger quantities become available.

The first shipment is estimated to arrive towards the end of September 2026. This date is an estimate and cannot be guaranteed.

A larger sea-freight order is expected to ship in January 2027. Customers hoping to secure a Juggernaut before March 2027 are encouraged to pre-order early.

Juggernaut tripod features

Oversized 44.7 mm carbon fibre legs

The Juggernaut uses carbon fibre tubes measuring up to 44.7 mm in diameter, making them noticeably larger than the 40 mm legs found on many previous heavy-duty Leofoto shooting tripods.

Combined with the reinforced apex and wider primary leg angle, the larger tubes provide exceptional rigidity for heavy precision rifles, spotting scopes and other demanding equipment.

New Mountain Weave Carbon Fiber

The legs are constructed from Toray 10-layer carbon fibre with Leofoto’s distinctive mountain-weave finish. This construction provides high stiffness and durability while keeping the overall weight manageable for a heavy-duty shooting tripod.

Improved 24 Degree Leg Angle

The Juggernaut offers three leg-angle settings for adapting to different shooting positions and terrain. Prior 40mm models features a 23 degree primary leg angle, whereas the Juggernaut features a larger 24 degree leg angle. This might sounds like a marginal difference, but it increases stability substantially.

Quarter-turn leg locks

Heavy-duty twist locks use a steeper thread pitch, allowing each leg section to be locked or released with approximately a quarter turn. The result is fast, controlled deployment, even when working with heavier rifle setups.

Redesigned quick-release apex

The Juggernaut’s upgraded apex combines a compact profile with greater modularity and quick-change functionality.

Its quick-release mechanism allows you to switch between a standard mounting plate and the included centre column, making it easy to move between shooting and spotting configurations. A center-column is great for making fine height adjustments when spotting, but its not something you want to use when shooting as it compromises rigidity, vibration absorption and raises the center of gravity.

A secondary safety lock helps prevent the mounted head or plate from releasing unintentionally. For the quickest changes, a second tripod head can be mounted separately on the centre column.

Pull-down leg-angle lock

A pull-down locking ring beneath the apex keeps the legs securely spread during use. This helps prevent the legs from folding inward when the tripod is moved quickly or when a leg comes into contact with the ground, obstacles or shooting props. The locking mechanism remains compatible with the included centre column.

Single-action leg-angle adjustment

Leofoto’s X-series hinges release with the push of a button, allowing leg angles to be adjusted with one hand. This is quicker and more convenient than traditional pull-tab mechanisms when repositioning the tripod during a stage.

Height markings on the legs

Integrated height markings make it easier to set all three legs to the same length or return quickly to a preferred shooting height.

Extra-long foot spikes

Each Juggernaut includes a set of 5-inch foot spikes for improved purchase on grass, soft soil, mud and uneven terrain. The spikes can be fitted in place of the standard rubber feet when conditions require additional grip.

Protective neoprene leg sleeve

A thick neoprene sleeve fitted to one leg improves carrying comfort and provides additional protection when the tripod rests against abrasive surfaces or shooting obstacles.

MA-40SXO Arca and Picatinny anvil head

The Juggernaut features a new and improved anvil head which builds and improves on the success of the MA-30L single action anvil head.

Larger 40 mm ball

The MA-40SXO uses a 40 mm ball, representing a 33% increase in diameter compared with a 30 mm ball head. The larger ball provides increased contact area and improved locking strength while maintaining a compact, low-profile design.

Arca and Picatinny compatibility

The dual-format clamp accommodates both Arca-Swiss and Picatinny rifle rails. Each interface can be adjusted independently by hand, allowing you to switch between rail formats without changing the clamp setting or carrying Allen keys.

Safety-locking clamp

A secondary safety mechanism helps prevent the clamp from opening accidentally if the release lever is bumped during use.

Secure, modular mounting

The MA-40SXO attaches using a standard 3/8-inch mounting thread, making it compatible with other suitable tripod legs. Additional locking screws around the base secure the head to the Juggernaut apex, reducing the possibility of unwanted movement or loosening. The Juggernaut legs can also be used with other compatible tripod heads when required.
