The Leofoto LVM-323C + BV-10/BV-15 Video Tripod Kit features a classic video-oriented design that caters to a wide range of needs in a premium build that doesn't break the bank. These tripods offer incredible value compared to other market offerings as well as Leofoto's prior offerings.
Amazing Value - Before the introduction of the LVM range, the closest comparable legs setup was the Summit LM-323C + YB-75LP leveling base, which is priced at R12000, JUST FOR THE LEGS. This kit offers nearly identical legs, a leveling base and a premium mid-size fluid head priced at R6000, all for R10 999.00.
Machined Apex with 75mm Leveling Base- The Leofoto LVM tripods have a large machined aluminium apex that consists of a 75mm bowl paired with a removable 75mm leveling base. This allows you to pair any head with the tripod, whether it has a flat base or a 75mm ball. The apex features 3x attachment points; QD, 3/8" and 1/4", which offers a lot of attachment options via magic arms and QD connections.
BV-15 Fluid Head - This kit is paired with Leofoto's BV-15 fluid head, the 3rd largest of their video heads. It features fluid dampened tilt and pan, locks on all axes, a maximum load of 10kg and a maximum balanced load of 2-3kg. A maximum balanced load is what will allow the head to smoothly counter any movement and return to the neutral position. The BV-15 has a push-button quick release arca clamp and includes a 100mm dual-pin plate, which allows roughly 50mm of travel. More travel can be easily achieved by using a longer plate.
Lever-Joints - These new video tripods are the first in the Leofoto line-up to get flip-lock/lever joints. Flip-lock joints are more convenient to use than twist-joints, but they succumb more quickly to the elements, particularly sea water. As videographers aren't quite as fond of sticking their tripods in sea water as nature photographers are, Leofoto have made the decision to offer their entire video range with these joints. Each lever is covered in a soft ergonomic silica rubber and the construction is simple enough to be easily cleaned.
Premium Japanese Carbon Fiber - Leofoto uses 10x layer cross-weave carbon fiber tubes made by Toray Inc – one of the world’s top carbon fiber manufacturers. This ensures strength and rigidity, while ensuring class-leading weight specifications. The hinges feature self-returning angle-selectors, a small feature that speeds up operation. All Ranger tripods offer leg angles of 23, 55 and 85 degrees.
Beveled Aluminium Core Feet – A tripod foot is just a piece of rubber, right? Think again! Most manufacturer’s tripod feet are just a steel spike encased in rubber – this makes it heavy and allows a lot of flex/vibration in the malleable rubber. Leofoto’s engineers have gone to great lengths to make the ultimate tripod foot and the result is an internal aluminium frame that minimizes the amount of flexible rubber in the construction. While this is a tiny detail, it adds to the rigidity of the tripod. All Leofoto ranges’ feet feature a multi-angled bevel, which helps it to grip on uneven terrain. All Leofoto tripods also include a set of spiked feet for shooting on ice or slippery rocks.
