If someone told me that I could only use a single filter for the rest of my life, I would answer ‘circular polarizer!’ before they even finished their question. If used correctly, it makes such a great difference to an image that people often use its effect as an analogy to justify extreme photoshop manipulation. In simple terms, it saturates colours and enhances contrast, but depending on when and how it is used, this difference can vary from a small enhancement to creating a totally different photograph.
