The V5 Pro holder system combined with the Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D is an incredibly unique offering. With most wide angle lenses, a 16mm focal length is the cut-off point when you have to switch from a 100mm filter system to a 150mm filter system. Why does this matter? Because 150mm filter systems are cumbersome and expensive.
This combination from NiSi and Laowa is the only system wider than 16mm that is compatible with a 100mm filter system, by a massive 4mm margin.
What's the difference between this holder and the normal V5 system? The Laowa lens does not have a screw thread, so the 82mm primary ring has a special bayonet mount adapter that is permanently fixed onto it.
You can convert this system to a normal V5 Pro system by purchasing the standard 82mm primary adapter ring and the necessary V5 step rings.
*With the polarizer mounted, you will lose about 1-2mm of your focal length due to the visibility of the polarizer ring in the corners (commonly and mistakenly referred to as vignetting).
