Tripod:
The Leofoto SO-322C Rapid Deploy 2-section Inverted Tripod is a perfect choice for full-size firearm combos, heavy cameras and lenses, large spotting scopes, and large format surveillance equipment. The inverted 2-section design makes for quick deployment in competitive PRS sport situations.
It features a 75mm modular apex that accepts a 75mm levelling base like the YB-75LC and the tripod includes a 75mm bowl adapter.
This tripod includes spiked feet and a padded carry bag.

Ball Head:
Leofoto’s new MH ball heads are the first heads designed specifically for use with rifles. The key feature is a locking control in the form of an oversized, ergonomic grip. The intention of this design is that you can easily lock and unlock the head while keeping your eye on the scope. This makes it easy to adjust your aim and then lock the head in place, without having to take your eye off the scope to find the right control on the head.
The MH heads are available in three sizes, ranging from a massive 60mm ball, down to a 50mm and 40mm ball. As with a normal ball head, the MH heads feature a tension adjustment. These heads have an individually controlled panning feature at the base of the head. A standard Arca-swiss style (dovetail) clamp allows mounting of any Arca rail and plate or an Arca-Picatinny adapter. A 70mm Arca-swiss style plate is included with the head.
Load Rating
With any use of a rifle, it is important to look at the load rating with an understanding of how manufacturers determine the load rating they give to a product. Photographic systems are always balanced on the tripod so that the centre of gravity is directly above the head. This keeps the force exerted on the head to a minimum and the head can thus handle very heavy loads.
With rifles, it is nearly impossible to balance the load on the head. The heaviest components (chamber, scope, bulk of the gun chassis) all sit to the back of the rifle and the only practical place to install the mounting rail is in front of the trigger. This means that rifles will never be balanced, much more force is exerted on the head and the head has to work much harder to hold the rifle in place when it is not supported by the shooter’s shoulder.
A safe approach is to look at the standard (balanced) load rating of a head and use 40% of that as a guideline for how much unbalanced weight the head can hold. How far off-centre the load sits also plays a role, but that just adds another variable that creates a very complex conversation. We have asked Leofoto to come up with a new system to determine load ratings more accurately for shooting setups. Hopefully, we will be able to give more informative load ratings for balanced and unbalanced setups in the future.

We have a no-nonsense approach. If a product breaks due to a manufacturer defect, we will replace it without asking any questions. If we have any reason to believe that the product was put through unreasonably heavy usage, we will have to follow the manufacturer's standard warranty procedure.

The manufacturer offers a 10-year limited warranty on all products and we extend that warranty to our customers. Please read the below very carefully, so you understand your position when something breaks or doesn’t work ideally anymore.
It is critical to understand that this warranty only applies to factory faults and not to standard wear and tear. Tripods are subject to a lot of gray areas in this regard as tripods used outdoors, particularly in sand and sea water, are subjected to extreme wear and tear. We will e.g. replace the affected part of your tripod if a carbon tube snaps or cracks without much pressure applied to it or if the apex breaks. We will not replace your tripod or the affected part if e.g. a joint locks up due to sand or salt build up or if a hinge becomes corroded or stiff/floppy and unserviceable due to corrosion or salt build up.
In sum, if we see that you took good care of your tripod and something went wrong, we will go out of our way to fix or replace it for you. If we see that you dragged it through the mud (literally or metaphorically), then we are unlikely to fix/replace it for you. How you handle your tripod and take care of it, is all the difference between 3- or 20 years of service.
The best of tripods will not last longer than 2/3 years if used regularly in the sea, INCORRECTLY, and never serviced. Always make sure to extend the lowest leg section first, so you keep the joints out of the water/sand. Always rinse with freshwater after use in the sea, wipe down with a wet cloth, leave extended to dry and ENSURE YOU KEEP THE HEAD AND APEX DRY. If your tripod’s joints start feeling sandy/gritty, open them up, give them a proper clean and lubrication and fine-tune the tension on the joints.
If travelling on dirt roads, ensure that your tripod is in its carry-bag when not in use.
