Widest rectilinear lens available for the Fuji X, Sony E and Canon EF-M system
With a 113 degree view, the Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D is not only the widest rectilinear lens available for these systems, but also one of the lightest and smallest. It features a high-quality metal build that ensures the lens will last, yet weighs only 215g. This lens offers a manual aperture range of f/2.8 to f/22, making it a great lens for astro- photography.
The build comprises 15 elements in 10 groups, including 3 extra- low dispersion elements, which makes for fantastic control of chromatic aberration and excellent resolving capability. Center frame sharpness is class-leading throughout the aperture range and corners sharpness is perfect from f/8 onwards.
Like it’s bigger brothers, Laowa’s incredible Zero-D technology shows in this lens, which is the absolute class leader and shows as close to zero distortion as you can get.
Frog Eye Coating
It also features their amazing hydrophobic ‘Frog-eye’ nano-coating, which makes rain and seaspray roll o the front element like water o a duck’s back. This makes it quick and easy to clean when shooting in wet conditions.
the compact and complex design of this lens creates a heavy vignette of 2-3 stops at the widest apertures. This is reduced to less than one stop at f/5.6 and onwards. A vignette can be used as a creative complement or it can be removed with a single click during the RAW development.
A minimum focusing distance of just 12cm o ers fantastic close- up opportunities
